Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)
Rhamnolipids are a cost-effective method of lowering the interfacial tension between oil and water, enhancing oil recovery from a variety of environments. Rhamnolipids improve EOR yields by emulsifying petroleum, allowing trapped oil to escape from a wide variety of sediments. Rhamnolipids are effective under an array of challenging work environments (high pH, extreme temperature, and high salinity). Replacing synthetic surfactants in EOR formulations with rhamnolipids can also eliminate a secondary source of environmental pollution. Field testing is encouraged to determine the specific needs for your site. Each site has unique attributes that can affect the optimal formulation and concentration levels.
